The Charleston County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (CCHRA)
is seeking highly motivated and customer service oriented applicants for the positions of:
- Trades Tech Assistant. Performs a variety of general, basic maintenance, repair and janitorial functions in one or more the crafts or trades. Requires one year of progressively responsible experience in basic maintenance. High School, GED or other certificate of competency desirable. $11.84/hr.
- Trades Tech I. Performs a variety of general semi-skilled maintenance and repair functions in one or more of the crafts or trades. Requires at least two years of progressively responsible experience in all aspects of maintenance. High School, vocational, trade or other certificate of competency desirable. $13.41/hr.
Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) Case Intake Specialist
Assists in administering the HCV/Section 8 Program waiting lists in compliance with applicable regulations, and ensures, wherever possible, that all discretionary activities are administered in conformance with Housing Authority and Administrative Plan policy. Coordinates all aspects of portability in both roles of initial and receiving housing authority including timely and accurate billing. Maintains contact, assists, and responds courteously to participants, landlords , and general public via telephone, email, U.S. mail and in person. Provides information and assistance within areas of expertise regarding program. Coordinates HCVP Review and Hearing processes. Performs other related essential duties and tasks as assigned. Must work with the highest degree of confidentiality and customer service. Full-time, hourly position.
Associate degree in Business, Social Work or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) or more years of experience in low income housing, community services, social services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to fulfill essential position functions. MS Professional Office Suite, strong internet and computer experience. Knowledgeable of the guidelines, rules regulations governing the HCV Program. Must possess a valid State of South Carolina drivers license and regularly participate in continuous improvement and education.
